What to Do When Your Search is Not Working

December 15, 2020 Leave a Comment Written by Neal Griebling

Let’s continue with Jenny’s thoughts on beefing up your search process:

  1. Reach out, strategically

Once you’ve identified your search targets on LinkedIn, give some thought to how best to approach. The worst way is to ask them directly to help you. Put yourself in their shoes. Would you like someone to approach you and get in your face? Of course not!

First, be mindful of the person’s time. Second, take some time to build rapport. You might want to find out what that person’s view is of their company, how they see it and what they value in their job.
