Look Before You Leap into That New Job!

You’re well into your search campaign. You’ve been worried you will never get a job offer. Now you’ve passed the phone screening test and they’ve called you for an interview.

You’re anxious to get that job and inclined to take it if they make you and offer. But I suggest you take a deep breath and find out whether it’s a good fit.

I’ve had clients who were desperate and took the first offer. Big mistake. It proved to be the job from hell.

How can you up your odds that the offer will play to your strengths and needs? Before the interview, try to find as much about the job specifics as you can. During the interview, ask what are the expectations for the position? How will performance be measured? Does the position have high turnover?

Smart interviewers will respect you for asking these questions and you will feel more confident if they make an offer.
